WHAT YOU WILL DO

We are seeking a Finance & Legal Intern to support our internal compliance, contract review, and research initiatives. This internship provides hands-on experience in financial policies, corporate legal processes, and regulatory research. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a keen interest in finance and legal frameworks within a corporate setting.

Key Responsibilities

Internal Compliance & Contract Review

  • Gain an understanding of internal finance and legal processes, including: 
    • Competitive Bids – Learning applicability, determining factors, documentation, and bypass procedures.
    • Service Contract Agreements (SCAs) – Reviewing and refining templates, distribution, and filing procedures.
    • Work Orders (WOs) – Understanding applicability, drafting, execution, and proper filing.
    • Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) – Reviewing templates and understanding their utilization.
    • Statements of Work (SOWs) – Learning the process from MSA terms to execution and internal compliance.
  • Assist in contract review and revision, analyzing agreements under supervision to identify key issues and potential revisions.
  • Research corporate structures and representation priorities to help streamline company-wide organization.

Regulatory & Legal Research

  • Conduct research on state and local alcohol regulations for key markets (Florida, New York, California, Texas, New Jersey, etc.), including: 
    • On- and off-premise sampling regulations.
    • Licensing requirements and regulatory structures.
    • Compliance guidelines and FAQs for company-wide reference.
  • Utilize legal research tools such as state regulatory websites and (if available) Westlaw to compile and organize findings.

Finance & Organizational Support

  • Support finance-related policies, including competitive bid policy and statement of work process.
  • Assist in streamlining the organization and correlation of corporate entities for improved efficiency.
  • Develop skills in financial analysis, contract law interpretation, and corporate compliance.

WAYS TO STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD

  • A student or recent graduate with an interest in corporate finance, business law, or compliance.
  • Detail-oriented with strong research, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Westlaw is a plus.
  • Capable of clear and concise communication when analyzing contracts and compliance policies.

 

Internship Schedule & Work Environment

  • Hybrid model: 2 days in-office, 1 day remote per week.
  • 24 hours per week at $20 per hour for 12 weeks.
